smaller carbon footprint with our digital Annual Report than the physical copy
Given the size of BT Group and the number of shareholders, many thousands require access to our Annual Report each year. Whilst the pressure on producing physical copies has reduced over the years as more people access the report via our digital version, several thousand copies of our physical report is still printed, processed and dispatched every year.
All the materials and production steps in producing a physical Annual Report are significantly greater than its digital counterpart. We’ve estimated that our digital annual report has a 93% smaller carbon footprint than the physical copy1. However, whilst it does have a larger footprint we and our suppliers have taken action over the years to reduce it, this includes:
- Switching to a paper made with 50% post-consumer recycled fibre.
- Reducing the thickness of paper and pagination.
- Using water-based ink for printing.
- Reduction printing and finishing times, reducing energy consumption.
- Offsetting the carbon footprint for paper used in the Annual Report and Notice of Meeting.
- Up to 59% of final mile delivery is zero emission2.

Dividend payments on certificated shares or those held in EasyShare1 are no longer being made by cheque. To continue to receive your BT Group dividends and any other money payable to you in connection with your BT Group plc shares, you must provide your bank or building society account details, so that payments can be made directly to your nominated account.
Full details on how to arrange direct dividend payments are on the Equiniti website, or you can provide your bank or building society account details via your Shareview Portfolio or by contacting the Shareholder Helpline (details below).
If you do not provide your bank or building society account details, your dividend payment will not be issued to you until your bank details are received, after which payment will be credited to your account as soon as possible. Your dividends will not accrue interest while they are being held for you and there may be a fee for these payments to be released.
Alternatively, you can elect to invest your dividends by joining the Dividend Investment Plan (the “plan”). The plan offers a convenient, easy, and cost effective way to use your dividend to purchase additional shares in BT Group plc at market value, which are then added to your holding.2
Important:
If you revoke your plan election or the plan is not offered for a particular dividend, and you haven’t provided valid bank or building society account details, your dividend payment will not be issued to you until your bank details are received and a fee may apply (see above).
You can provide your UK bank or building society details via your Shareview Portfolio or by contacting the Shareholder Helpline.
