LAN 1, LAN 2, LAN 3, LAN 4 / Port 1, Port 2, Port 3, Port 4 sockets
Depending on which type of modem you have, you'll see four sockets labelled LAN 1, LAN 2, LAN 3 and LAN 4 or Port 1, Port 2, Port 3, and Port 4.
These sockets connect your broadband service or services. The Openreach fibre modem can support up to four broadband connections. Unless you have multiple broadband services it's usual for your broadband service to be connected through LAN1 or Port 1.
BBU socket
BBU stands for 'Battery Back-up'. This socket connects the battery back-up equipment to your modem.

Tel1 and Tel2 sockets

These sockets connect your fibre home phone service and can support up to two phone lines. Your telephone should connect through the Tel 1 socket, unless you've got two telephone lines in which case you'd use both sockets.
