When you join BT Wi-fi you are agreeing to share a portion of your bandwidth through your BT Hub via a separate, secure channel. This is in exchange for being able to share the bandwidth of all the other BT Wi-fi members around the world.
Since March 2009 all new BT Broadband customers are automatically opted into BT Wi-fi. You can use your wi-fi minutes at millions of wireless hotspots across the UK and overseas, as soon as you’ve received confirmation of your broadband order and set up a BT ID
If you've opted out, or you got BT Broadband before March 2009 and now want to join BT Wi-fi:
- Go to www.bt.com/btwifi (opens in new window)
- Click on Register for BT Wi-fi or click on Check my status to get details on your account
- Follow the registration steps using your @btinternet.com email address (or @btopenworld.com), which acts as your username, and your email address password
