Where the Customer requires termination of an applicable circuit in an agreed Customer Provided Termination Housing (CPTH) at a non-served premises, a survey is carried out and charges are assessed based upon the distance from the nearest suitable BT footway box, using the charges given in Excess Construction Charges (Section 45 of the Price List). These charges are in addition to the standard connection charges which apply for the applicable service. A survey fee is charged whether or not the service is taken. |
BT's quote for Excess Construction charges (if any) is valid for a period of 30 days after which time a new survey/costing will need to be completed. |
There are two exceptional situations in which the above pricing methodology is not applicable: |
In either situation, the survey fee is charged whether or not service is taken. The survey fee is shown in the table below. |
If the work involves excess construction charges and service is taken by the customer, the survey fee given in Section 45of the Price List applies. |
If the customer decides NOT to take service, regardless of whether the work involves excess construction charges or not, then the following applies: |

Exceptions |
1. Where any Electronic Public Communications Provider (EPCP) requires termination of a PSTN exchange line in a CPTH that is within 30 metres of a suitable BT footway box, (suitability to be agreed by the BT Planner ) and the route between the CPTH Site and the BT footway box is contained entirely within the footway, BT will Provide a coil of cable in the agreed BT footway box. This cable will be of adequate length to reach the agreed CPTH site and the pairs will be marked and tested for dial tone. |
The EPCP will; - -Core drill into the agreed BT footway box.
- -Lay duct of a specification agreed with the BT Planner from an underground lead-in a CPTH site to the agreed footway box.
- -Make good as appropriate and make a gas seal in the duct mouth.
- -Draw the coil of cable through the new duct.
- -Terminate the marked and tested pairs in the CPTH linebox.

All work carried out by the EPCP will be to current engineering and safety standards. |
The charge in this situation including survey fee and where no excess construction charges are applicable is set out in the table below; |

In circumstances where EPCP requires BT to carry out the above work, the above charge will not be applicable and BT will charge normal Excess Construction charges for work carried out. |

2. Where any EPCP requires termination of a PSTN exchange line in an agreed CPTH that is within one metre of a suitable BT footway box, (suitability to be agreed by the BT Planner, the CPTH must be supplied by the EPCP Customer together with all wiring from the BT footway box towards the CPTH, the CPTH must conform to the following rules; - -Provide suitable environment for the standard Network Terminating Equipment (NTE) which must be above ground and in the public footway.
- -Provide an entry point 300-400mm below footway level.

In instances where the Customer Site needs to be made ready by the customer prior to installation a period of 60 days will be deemed reasonable from the date the order is confirmed for the Customer to complete all Site work. |
In circumstances where EPCP requires BT to carry out the above work , the above charge will not be applicable and BT will charge Excess Construction charges for work carried out. |

Cancellation charges will apply as for the applicable standard telephone service line i.e. BT will charge at standard prices for all work including Excess Construction carried out prior to the cancellation. |
In respect of the 1 metre delivery, BT is only responsible for maintaining the exchange line to the point of its termination and not the Customer's wiring. |
BT exchange line to the network termination point is covered by Standard Care maintenance. Prompt Care and Total Care is available if required. Prompt Care is not available on ISDN2/2e lines. |
