Section 12:Inland Private Circuits

Part 11:Short Haul Data Services.

Subpart 2:SHDS Connect Aggregate

SHDS Connect Aggregate is a short distance aggregation product that delivers multiples of 10Mb and 100Mb spoke circuits to a central site via a 1Gb circuit.

For each 1Gb circuit, up to ten 10/100Mb spoke circuits can be aggregated (up to a total maximum bandwidth of 910Mb). Each 10/100Mb spoke circuit can have a radial distance of up to 25km from the aggregation point. The 1Gb circuit can have a radial distance of up to 25km from the aggregation point. The aggregation point is a BT exchange.

The radial distance between the local serving exchange for the central site or the spoke site and the serving exchange for the aggregation point is known as the Main Link distance.

Presentation of the 1Gb circuit at the central site can be either via a 1Gb fibre optic interface or multiple 10/100Mb RJ45 interfaces.

The 1Gb central site circuit can be delivered to the Customer as a local handover or remote handover option. Local handover means the circuit will terminate within the aggregation point, remote handover means that it will terminate at the Customer?s Site. For the remote handover option, the Customer can select Resilience RA01 which means that two fibre paths will be delivered with auto-failover should the primary path fail.

    Eligibility

Available nationally within the UK if the Customer requires interconnection of 10 and 100Mbit/s Ethernet LANs

    Installation and Service SLG

All SHDS products are covered with the SLG at:- http://www.bt.com/pricing/current/Private_Cir__boo/1309_d0e9815.htm#1309-d0e9815)

    Pricing Information

All prices where quoted are exclusive of VAT.

The connection charge and annual rental are applied per link and are not distance-dependent (i.e. they are fixed charges). The Main Link charge is calculated on the radial distance between the two local BT serving exchanges. If the Customer's two Sites are within the same local BT exchange area, the Main Link charge will not apply.

    Shift Charges

Shifts are allowed at any time during the contract period.

Only the remote end (A-end) can be shifted, If the Customer requires a shift to be within the same building (an internal shift), Network Timescale rates (see Section 15) apply.

If the Customer requires the Local End to be moved to a new building (an external shift) within the same exchange area, then the appropriate connection charge for one Local End will apply. Where the external shift is made to a different exchange area, the appropriate connection charges for one Local End will apply and a new distance based rental charge will be calculated.

All shifts involve a break in service and the SLG will not apply.

    Ancillary Charges (Excess Construction Charges)

The standard connection charge is conditional upon suitable fibres already being in place between the BT exchange and the Customer's Site connection point. If such fibres do not exist, or additional work is required then additional charges will be levied. The Customer will be informed of these charges prior to work commencing. If the Customer does not agree to pay these charges then BT will cancel the Order without any further liability on BT?s part.

Charges for infrastucture over and above standard requirements are given in Section 47 Part 1 These charges include work on internal trunking & traywork; breaking through walls; additional poles, ducts and cables; radio charges and miscellaneous non-standard or specially requested items.

    Ordering, Provision and Cancellation

Orders received must be accompanied with a correctly completed Customer Requirements Form (CRF).

Orders received are subject to survey and further investigation by BT. 10Mb and 100Mb spoke circuits cannot be ordered unless there is a 1Gb aggregation link in place or already planned to be in place at the relevant BT exchange. If BT cannot provide the Service for technical, operational or geographical reasons, BT will advise the Customer and BT will cancel the Order without any further liability on BT?s part.

If the Customer cancels the order, Cancellation Charges are incurred based upon the number of working days of the installation that remain.
