Subpart 11:Isdn2/2e BT Digital Calling Features (Formerly Digital Select Services)

ISDN2 (DASS2) AND BUSINESS HIGHWAY PRODUCT RETIREMENT NOTICE

ISDN2 (DASS2) and Business Highway are being completely retired in 2008. In most areas this is expected to take place on March 31st 2008, but in some parts of the country this may be at an earlier date.

Service withdrawn from 31 March 2008. Service Removal Programme in Operation.

Customers affected by an earlier retirement date will be notified in advance. On retirement, telephony services and features of ISDN2 (DASS2) and Business Highway will no longer be available to existing Customers. Rental and any other related charges will no longer be applied. (This note will be updated with any change to the retirement dates should this arise)

From August 18th 2006, Customers terminating their ISDN2 (DASS2) and/or Business Highway Contracts within the Minimum Period will not be liable to pay early termination charges. This applies to 1 year as well as to 3 and 5 year long term Contracts.

See Subpart titled `BT ISDN 2E Upgrade from ISDN2' later in this Part for charges that apply to Customers converting from ISDN2 to ISDN2e and/or from Business Highway to ISDN2e.

The ISDN BY-Pass Number feature is no longer available for new supply and will be retired on the 31st July 2007.

BT Calling Features

Business Highway has been withdrawn from new supply from 10 April 2006. ISDN2 DASS2 has been withdrawn from new supply with effect from 10 April 2006.
Some BT Calling Features are available to Business Highway lines (but not ISDN2/2e lines) at normal prices and are charged per analogue channel to which they are applied (see Section 2 Part 4).

Isdn2 BT Digital Calling Features

BT Digital Calling Features provide enhanced call handling facilities on calls made and received by ISDN2, 2e lines, Business Highway lines and ISDN 30/30e channels. Some BT Digital Calling Features can only be provided and removed by BT while others can be activated by the customer. Usually individual BT Digital Calling Features are charged by a quarterly rental without set up charges for each directory number or contiguous Direct Dialling In number range (where this applies to ISDN2/2e lines or ISDN30/30e channels). The service, once provided, applies to all calls to or from the relevant directory number or contiguous DDI range.

Eligibility

BT Digital Calling Features are generally available on calls made or received by :

ISDN2 and 2e lines (ISDN2 DASS2 has been withdrawn from new supply with effect from 10 April 2006);

Business Highway Lines (over the ISDN directory number only, but not the PSTN numbers) (Business Highway has been withdrawn from new supply from 10 April 2006)

ISDN30 (DASS2 or I421) or ISDN30e channels.

Pricing Information

Charges apply per directory number or contiguous number range. Where calls are diverted or forwarded, the diverted part of the call is charged to the renter of the service at standard charges including any applicable discounts. Calling customers pay the call charge only to the number which they have dialled and not to the diverted number.
