Description |
ProvidedWavestream Connect Service is provided between two customerCustomer sites up to 35km (radial distance) apart, Wavestream Connect is a point to point data service offering high bandwidth connectivity and allowing the transport of a variety of protocols such as FDDI, ATM, ESCON and Ethernet.
|
Wavestream Connect Product is targeted specifically at customer demand to cater for large corporate or multinational business that uses Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing (DWDM) technology in the UK. DWDM Technology is used where End Users have large bandwidth requirements for multiple circuits between two (or more) sites. These DWDM services can also support a wide range of customer interfaces. These multiple circuits are provided on Wavestream Connect by lighting additional 'wavelengths' on the main bearer system. These Wavelengths come in two generic bandwidths, 2.48G.5G & 10G. These options are described generically below:
Wavestream Connect Access' 2.5Gbit/s - A point-to-point service that connects two customerscustomer sites with a main link distance of no more than 35km (subject to fibre route distance of approx 70km).
Wavestream Connect Access' 10Gbit/s - A point-to-point service that connects two customerscustomer sites with a main link distance of no more than 35km (subject to fibre route distance of approx 60km). Up to 16 channels of up to 10Gbit/s.

Ancillary Charges |
Excess Construction Charges (ECC's) may also be payable to BT for provision of the Wavestream Connect service, where applicable. These charges will be raised separately by BT as part of the Wavestream Connect provision process.
Charges for infrastructure over and above standard requirements are given in Section 48:Part 1: These charges include work on internal trunking & traywork; breaking through walls; additional poles, ducts and cables; radio charges and miscellaneous non-standard or specially requested items.
|
Eligibility |
Wavestream Connect is available nationally within the UK to all customers requiring 2.5Gbit/s and 10Gbit/s services for a minimum of 12 months contract period. |
Wavestream Connect customers should be aware that Wavestream services of any type are not to be used for the purpose of building or extending core networks or where the intent is to replicate a core network.Where such usage occurs BT may take appropriate action under the applicable Contract. Such action may include suspension and / or termination of the service(s) concerned. |
Pricing Information |
Price on application |
The Wavestream Connect main bearer pricing structure for the Wavestream Connect will consist of 2 local ends as well as the applicable main link charge. The pricing will also differ depending on the equipment supplier required by the Customer. |
Prices will be based on an aggregated cost for the main bearer / Wavestream Connect system based on the two local ends. |
Connection charges are payable on the service, or part thereof, first becoming available. |
Rental charges are payable annual in advance on the service, or part thereof, first becoming available. |
General Charging Rules |
Wavestream Connect B, Wavestream Connect A & Wavestream Connect Resilient |
Option 2 Main Bearer |
Each Wavestream Connect bearer service depending on the equipment supplier (ADVA or Nortel) and associated configuration chosenordered by the customerCustomer (Wavestream B, Wavestream A Wavestream Resilient Option 2 ) will have a an applicable Connection chargeCharge and associated annual Rental chargeCharge. |
The Connection Charging structure consists of: A fixed charge for the access system / bearer.
The Rental Charging structure will also differ depending on the equipment supplier
(ADVA or Nortel).
A fixed charge for the Access system / bearer.
|
Plus: A distance related charge for the Main Link component if applicable. All distances will be rounded up to the nearest metre to a maximum of 35,000 metres. |
If both local ends of the service share the same BT serving exchange, Main Link charges
will not apply.
|
Bearer growth Modules |
Additional chargesCharges maybewill quotedapply for if the customerCustomer wishesorders to deploy a larger bearer system. The charging approachstructure wouldwill be identical to the charging methodologystructure for the initial bearer systems detailed above. If the customerCustomer requiresorders a system that will accomodate to cater for up to 8 wavelengths no growth module chargesCharges wouldwill be applicableapply.
If the customerCustomer requiresorders a system that will accomodate to cater for up to 16 wavelengths then thean additional 9-16 growth module wouldCharge needwill to be added to the main bearer charge.
If the customerCustomer requiresorders a system that will accomodate to cater for up to a maximum of 32 wavelengths then both the additional 9-16 andan additional17-32 9-16growth modulesand would17-32 needgrowth moduleto Chargesbe willadded to the main bearerbe added to the main bearer charge.
|
End point amplification |
This option would also be identical to the charging methodology for the initial bearer systems as detailed above. |
Total Bearer system charges |
Total bearer system chargesCharges shouldwill be the aggregation of the chargeable options in sections as outlined below.
Example 1: If a customer wantedrequires a 16 wavelength bearer system with end point amplification the total charge applicable wouldwill be standard bearer + 9-16 growth module + end point amplification.
Example 2: If a customer wantedrequires a 32 wavelength bearer system with end point amplification the total charge applicable wouldwill be standard bearer + 9-16 growth module + 17-32 growth module + end point amplification.
|
Customer Wavelengths |
Each Wavestream Connect 2.48G & 10G customer wavelengths depending on the equipment supplier (ADVA or Nortel) will have an applicable Connection charge and associated annual Rental charge. This structure will be applicable to all bearer variants of WS Connect (Wavestream A, Wavestream B & Wavestream Resilient Option 2). |

Following an external shift contract rentals:
- rental for annual contracts will be recalculated as appropriate at the prevailing price.
- rentals for Fixed Price and Long Term contracts will be recalculated at the rates applicable to when the contract was originally signed or at the prevailing rates if these are lower.

Conditions |
1) Service is provided under BT'S `Conditions for Private Services' The relevant contract options can be found in Section 12:Part 8: of the Price List. |
2) The minimumMinimum periodPeriod of service for Wavestream beginning on the day when Service is first made available is 12 months. |
3) Either Party may terminate any individual Service by giving not less than 30 days written notice to the other subject to payment by the Customer to BT of any outstanding charges and any applicable termination charges as set forth in this Price List. |
4) If BT gives notice, the Customer must pay rental up to the expiry of the notice. If the Customer gives notice after the Minimum Period, the Customer must pay rental until expiry of the notice, whichever is later. If the Customer gives notice within the Minimum Period the Customer must pay rental or other charges for the remainder of any Minimum Period at the rate in force at termination or as otherwise provided in this Price List. |
