As of 28 October 1997, KiloStream Bearers are no longer available for new supply and KiloStream Plus and KiloStream N Bearer circuits can only be provided to fill excess capacity on existing bearers. The alternative is KiloStream DDO (See Part 8 of this Section).

KiloStream Bearer is a bulk delivery option for KiloStream (2.4 - 64 kbit/s), suited usually to customers requiring a minimum of 15 channel circuits in total and KiloStream N (Data) Bearer system services. It consists of a 2 Mbit/s local access bearer and either a customer based multiplexer or an Aggregate Interface (G703/4) if appropriate. Only one end of the circuit need have a KiloStream Bearer for the reduced charges to apply. Aggregate Interface is only available for KiloStream 64 kbit/s and KiloStream N services.
