Part 17:Business Line Start-Up - Not available for supply with effect from 31 March 2011

Subpart 1:Business Line Start-Up

Business Line Start-Upgives a pricing package to business customers with a Public Switch Telephone Network PSTN (Ordinary) line, which includes a spread connection option and a inclusive call allowance(ICA).

With effect from 31 March 2011, lines included within this service :

(a) will revert to standard PSTN lines and will be charged standard PSTN line rental - see Section 1:Part 2:Subpart 3: - Pricing and

(b) will not receive the Inclusive Call Allowance

Eligibility

This service is available to all business customers.

Exceptions

Customers with:

  • - Accounts which have monthly billing
  • - Multiple lines discount, see Section Part 2
  • - Exchange lines used as auxiliary lines any ISDN or Highway lines and Temporary or exhibition exchange lines.
  • - Exchange lines terminating on BT or customer maintained PBX's or BT rented PBX's
  • - Residential lines, Payphone lines, Temporary service or exhibition lines, Non Served Premises, ISDN or Highway lines.

A Call allowance of £60.00 (exc. VAT), £72.00 (inc. VAT) per quarter is included in the rental charge.

Conditions

Service is given under BT's Terms & Conditions for Business Service as varied by the conditions below.

  • -The option is only available on a maximum of one business exchange line in any account (ie covered by an individual bill).
  • -The inclusive call allowance can be used up by all exchange lines on the account- including any lines terminating on PBXs and lines in all constituent installations within the account (ie where there are multiple directory numbers). The call allowance will not be transferable to different products (eg ISDN2, Home or Business Highway, ISDN30 or FeatureLines). Where exchange lines requiring the option are in an account containing other products, a separate account will be established for the ICA exchange lines.
  • -The minimum term of service is 12 months for new supply and 3 months for existing lines which are converted to ICA or lines taken over. Customers who cease within the minimum term will be liable for normal exchange line cancellation charges plus any outstanding spread connection charges. After the minimum term of service, normal cessation terms apply. If cessation occurs within a quarterly period, then both call allowance and rental are pro-rated for the appropriate period.
  • -Migration from the inclusive call allowance option back to the normal line rental is possible after completion of the minimum term at no charge.
  • -The Inclusive Call Allowance will be provided on a quarterly basis and any unused allowance at the end of the quarter will not be carried forward to the next quarter. The call allowance applies to all calls except Chargecard calls, Fixed to Mobile calls, Ring Me Free calls, Premium Rate Services, Operator calls and BT Calling Feature call facility fees, Directory Enquiry Calls, non-geographic national numbers (eg 0870) and Information Services. Normal discounts (eg. Business Choices, Key Numbers) apply in addition to the call allowance.
