Part 5:Service to Other Administrators

Subpart 6:Megaline Digital Services to Republic of Ireland (a), the Channel Islands, Isle of Man & Kingston Upon Hull

From 1st December 2021 all remaining MegaLine services will no longer be available (at any bandwidth) for new supply. Existing Customers of any MegaLine services can continue to rent current circuits at the prevailing rental charge. After services are withdrawn from new supply, no new circuits can be provided and existing circuits cannot be externally shifted or regraded. From 1st December 2020 until 1st December 2021 the new supply of MegaLIne services are subject to the availability of sufficient spare capacity within the local network infrastructure.

MegaLine services provide dedicated point to point digital links for a customer?s exclusive use between the UK Mainland and the OA's. High Bandwidth MegaLine Services offer chargeable options from 34 M/bit/s up to 155 Mbit/s. Key features include high quality transmission, performance and reliability with nation-wide coverage. A range of interface options are offered.

Genus equivalents are not available for this product.

High Bandwidth MegaLine (34, 45, & 155Mbit/s) circuits are only available to the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man.

Eligibility

Any BT customer who has the need to link premises under BT's jurisdiction to premises within the jurisdiction of the designated Other Administration (OA).

Pricing Information

All prices quoted are shown exclusive of VAT.

The charges cover provision of the portion of a circuit from a BT customer network interface to the designated charge point, and includes the line and terminating units at the BT end. Charges relating to the distant portion of the circuit will also apply.

MegaLine prices consist of a single payment connection charge and annual rental payable in advance, and are based on the aggregate charge for a Local End and a Main Link.

The Main Link price is calculated on the straight line distance between the customer's nearest exchange equipped with digital plant and the appropriate charge point.

There will be additional charges made depending on exact circumstances or special customer requirements,

e.g. for special duct provision, added security, or unusual or remote sites.

Connection ? no longer available for new supply

Charges for infrastructure over and above standard requirements are given in Section 45 Part 1 These charges include work on internal trunking & traywork; breaking through walls; additional poles, ducts and cables; radio charges and miscellaneous non-standard or specially requested items.

MegaLine connection charges are identical to standard MegaStream charges. Details are contained in Section 12 Part 4

Annual Rentals

For 2Mbit/s circuits to Republic of Ireland (a) a fixed charge of £39500.00 and a Main Link per Km or part Km charge of £152.00 per annum applies.

For 2Mbit/s circuits to Channel Islands a fixed charge of £44764.00 and a Main Link per Km or part Km charge of £306.00 per annum applies.

For 2Mbit/s circuits to Isle Of Man a fixed charge of 16538.00 and a Main Link per Km or part Km charge of £306.00 per annum applies.

For 2Mbit/s circuits to Kingston Upon Hull a fixed charge of £10541.00 and a Main Link per Km or part Km charge of £731.00 for the first 15 Km and an additional £306.00 per Km or part Km for distances over 15 Km per annum applies.

For 2Mbit/s circuits to Channel Islands a fixed charge of £34780.00 and a Main Link per Km or part Km charge of £238.00 per annum applies.

For 2Mbit/s circuits to Isle Of Man a fixed charge of £12850.00 and a Main Link per Km or part Km charge of £238.00 per annum applies.

For 2Mbit/s circuits to Kingston Upon Hull a fixed charge of £8192.00 and a Main Link per Km or part Km charge of £570.00 for the first 15 Km and an additional £238.00 per Km or part Km for distances over 15 Km per annum applies.

Migration Options

Migration to NetStream

NetStream Enterprise or NetStream Corporate is available to customers. Please refer to Section 12Part 7of this Price List for details of NetStream Services.

Migration to NetStream Enterprise and Corporate private circuits is allowed at any time, even during the minimum period, without payment of any outstanding rental provided that:

  • (i)any outstanding connection charges are paid in full.
  • (ii)the Terms and Conditions for NetStream Enterprise and Corporate are accepted.
  • (iii)the minimum requirements for NetStream Enterprise and Corporate are met.
  • (iv)the term of the NetStream Enterprise and Corporate contract is equal to, or greater than, the outstanding term of the existing contract.

Upgrades ? no longer available for new supply

For upgrade of Network Terminating Equipment see Part 4 of this Section for details.

Customers may upgrade the 2Mbit/s delivery interface presentation.

The charge for upgrade of 75 Ohm unbalanced ITU-T-G703/4 (BNC) to 120 Ohm balanced ITU-T-G703/4 (RJ45) interface is £325.00 per 2Mbit/s end.

NBFor customers with newer G703/4 equipment who require upgrading by software changes only, Timescale rates will apply instead (see Section 15, Part 7)

Shift Charges

For Internal Shift (within the same building) Network Timescale rates apply (see Section 15)

External Shifts of the BT end of the circuit are no longer possible from 1st December 2021.

Contract Options

  • All MegaLine customers may opt to pay their connection charge in 3 annual instalments. The 3 instalments are calculated as follows:
  • Connection Charge X 0.388
  • If a customer terminates service prior to paying all 3 instalments, the customer will pay BT any outstanding connection charges.

Discount Contracts

BT offers a discount option based on length of commitment (Term) and Committed Spend (See Part of 8this Section).

Conditions

Service is provided under BT's 'Conditions for Private Services'.

All MegaLine products are offered with a minimum of 1 year annual rental. This is payable irrespective of any early termination of service.
