With effect of 01 February 2009, KiloStream N Bearer circuits will be no longer available for new supply.
Since 28 October 1997, KiloStream Bearers are no longer available for new supply and KiloStream Plus and KiloStream N Bearer circuits can only be provided to fill excess capacity on existing bearers. The alternative is KiloStream DDO - please see part 8of this Section. The following two tables and information only apply to bearers provided before 28 October 1997, and are not eligible for any DDO discounts.
A KiloStream `Bearer' is a BT delivery option for KiloStream and KiloStream N private circuits, utilised when there is a need to provide a 2Mbit/s line plant path for delivery of the KiloStream or KiloStream N. It consists of a 2 Mbit/s line plant, and either a customer premises sited multiplexor or an Aggregate Interface (G703/4). Only one end of the circuit need have a KiloStream `Bearer' for the KiloStream N Bearer charges in the tables to apply.
KiloStream N circuits provided over such bearer systems incur different rental charges as shown below. Please note that these prices only apply to Customers who are already renting Bearer circuits, which were provided before 28th October 1997. This should not be confused with DDO pricing.
Annual Rental Charges for circuits with both local ends in the CLZ delivered over a Bearer System
Customers with existing individual KiloStream N or KiloStream Plus interfaces and a minimum of 15 64k circuits, can change their delivery method to a KiloStream Aggregate Interface (ITU-T-G 703/4) for a single payment of £1635 (exc. VAT). This charge covers the cost of changing to Aggregate Interface and reconnecting your KiloStream N circuits; Changing an individual circuit interface to KiloStream Aggregate Interface on other occasions will incur a charge of £109 (exc. VAT) per circuit. Other occasions will be any other occasion following the initial change of interface which requires a minimum of 15 circuits to be done in one go (at the same time/occasion). In addition, a visit charge may be applicable, see Section 15 Part 7
Customers who have paid a Site Connection Charge are not bound by the 15 circuit minimum requirement to qualify for this Aggregate interface option.
Customers wishing to change from KiloStream N Aggregate Interface to individual interface presentations will be required to pay the additional KiloStream 2 Mbit/s path connection charge and the connection charge for each KiloStream N circuit routed over that 2 Mbit/s path. Please see Section 12 Part 1 Analogue Private Circuits - General Information
For changes to the KiloStream Aggregate Interface (ITU-T-G 703/4) from BNC to RJ45, or vice versa, please refer to Section 12 Part 4 `Upgrades' for charges.
