All prices quoted are exclusive of VAT. |
There are connection charges for each local end, and annual rentals for each local end and main link. The main link is priced according to the distance between the BT local exchanges at each end, rounded up to the nearest kilometre. For circuits that link two premises within the City of London Zone (“CLZ Circuits"), fixed rental charges (that cover both local end and main link components) will be made. CLZ is defined as that area covered by the 0207 dialing code. |
Charges for infrastructure over and above standard requirements are given in Section 45 Part 1 These charges include work on internal trunking & traywork; breaking through walls; additional poles, ducts and cables; radio charges and miscellaneous non-standard or specially requested items. Site connection fees are required where 2Mbit/s line plant is required to provide service. This 2Mbit/s line plant can be either copper or fibre. As such all connection charges are subject to survey. Details of the Site connection fees applicable are contained in Section 12 Part 4 These charges are in addition to those quoted below. KiloStream Ns between 128kbit/s and 640kbit/s normally do not require a 2 Mbit/s path, except where the site is too far from the serving exchange, or where there are copper limitations. KiloStream N circuits over this speed will always require a 2 Mbit/s path at a new site. |
KiloStream N circuits do not incur any Multiple Site additional circuit charges. |
If service is required at a Non-Served premises. See Section Part 5 |
All KiloStream customers may opt to pay their connection charge in 3 annual instalments. The 3 instalments are calculated as follows: |
Connection Charge x 0.388 |
If a customer terminates service prior to paying all 3 instalments, the customer will pay BT any outstanding connection charges. |
Connection Charges |
There is no connection charge for the main link. The following table applies to both CLZ and non CLZ circuits and site connection charges may apply, see above: |
|
*This rate applies where a Multiple Site Fee has been paid OR where a 2Mbit/s path (`bearer') existed at the customers site before 31/12/01. See Deemed Multiple Site Fee explanation below. |
Singleton & Multiple Site Fee Explained |
Singleton Site |
Normally delivered using copper and most suitable for low volume provision (1 or 2 circuits). Customers can fill the 2Mbit/s path at the above prices, however where capacity is exhausted, the customer must order an additional 2Mbit/s, see Section 12 part 4 for prices. Availability of this service is subject to survey. |
Multiple Site |
Normally delivered using optical fibre. This method is, most suitable when the customer thinks they are likely to order more than one digital wideband service at this site. Multiple site connection fees are raised only once at a site and are currently 9000 (exc VAT) per end. There are no additional charges at a Multiple site when capacity has been exhausted. |
Deemed Multiple Site |
Deemed sites are those sites with a MegaStream already in situ prior to 31st December 2001. A customer will only receive the additional circuit charges for subsequent circuits on Sites where a fibre delivered service has been provided prior to 31st December 2001 for 2Mbit/s products. A customer may only receive reduced rentals on Sites, where a Site Fee has been paid. |
Rental Charges |

- Re-use of existing infrastructure only, where no new infrastructure is required
- Outstanding connection charges for circuit(s) being ceased are paid in full
- On upgrade, all appropriate charges (including set up charges) for the new service must be paid
- Customers must accept that there may be a break in service between the cessation of the KiloStream N and the start-up of the MegaStream 2.
