KiloStream Circuits Routed Over a KiloStream Bearer

With effect of 1 February 2009, KiloStream Plus circuits will be no longer available for New Supply.
As of 28 October 1997, KiloStream Bearers are no longer available for new supply and KiloStream Plus and KiloStream N Bearer circuits can only be provided to fill excess capacity on existing bearers. The alternative is KiloStream DDO (See Part 8 of this Section).
The charges in this Part apply to individual KiloStream circuits, when either one or both ends of the circuit are provided over a KiloStream Bearer (for Bearer charges see details contained in this Part).
There are two termination options for this delivery option; (i)individual KiloStream termination via a multiplexor for all speeds or (ii)KiloStream Aggregate Interface (ITU-T-G.703/4) which is available for KiloStream 64 kbit/s service only.
There is usually a commercial restriction of a minimum of 15 channels per KiloStream Bearer and there may be a technical constraint on the number of KiloStream channels that can be provided on one Bearer.
When opting for KiloStream Aggregate Interface, customers are advised to modify their apparatus to prevent potential disruptions to service during maintenance or when circuits are added/removed on their system.
Measurements are based on the straight-line distance between a suitable digitally equipped serving exchange and the remote KiloStream serving exchange. The Central London Zone comprises all exchanges within the 020 7 area.

NB:Where the remote end of a circuit is provided by Out-of-Area means, the appropriate charge should be added (see Part ).

Change of Interface Options

Customers may choose to change their existing individual KiloStream termination's to KiloStream Aggregate Interface (ITU-T-G.703/4). It is a commercial requirement that a minimum of 15, 64kbit/s channels must be connected. Channels of less than 64kbit/s will need to be rearranged.
Conversion from KiloStream and KiloStream Plus individual provision to KiloStream Aggregate Interface (ITU-T-G703/4) a single payment charge of £1635.00 applies.
This charge covers the cost of changing to aggregate interface and reconnecting the associated KiloStream 64 kbit/s circuit to that specific aggregate interface If carried out at the same time. Moving circuits to or from the associated KiloStream Bearer on other occasions will incur the associated Retermination charge.
Retermination of circuits/channels not to be connected to KiloStream Aggregate Interface (ITU-T-G703/4) a single payment charge of £109.00 applies. In addition, a visit charge may be applicable see Section 15 Part 7
Customers wishing to change from KiloStream Aggregate Interface to individual circuit terminations will be required to pay the additional KiloStream Bearer connection charge and the connection charge for each KiloStream circuit routed over the KiloStream Bearer (See Part of this Section)

Additional Information

Shift Charges

Prices for shifts of circuits routed over KiloStream Plus are as for standard KiloStream Circuits (see Part for KiloStream circuit shift charges and for KiloStream Bearer shift charges refer to details contained within this Part).

Contract Options

All KiloStream Plus customers may opt to pay their connection charge in 3 annual instalments. The 3 instalments are calculated as follows:
Connection Charge X 0.388
If a customer terminates service prior to paying all 3 instalments, the customer will pay BT any outstanding connection charges.

Discount Contracts

These circuits are likely to be eligible for a number of discount options, including Singleton Term and Pool Contracts. Refer to Part 8 of this section for full details of these schemes.

Bulk Discounts

Where there is a requirement to provide and/or shift in excess of 49 analogue and/or digital Inland and/or International Private Circuits, see Part 8 of this Section for applicable discounts.
